Is the coating of non stick pot toxic?

Column:Industry Dynamic Time:2020-09-23
Can it still be used if it's lost?

Non stick pot, as the name suggests, is that the food will not stick to the pot, which is more convenient to clean. It's definitely a blessing for novice cooks. But after the pot was used for a long time, the internal coating began to fall. One piece fell today and one piece fell tomorrow. If it falls into the rice, will it be poisonous? Can the nonstick pot with the coating off be used?

First of all, we can see that the inside of the non stick pot is wrapped with a black film - polytetrafluoroethylene. It is a fluorine-containing polymer material, which has strong stability and corrosion resistance. It is used to make artificial arteries in medicine, and its safety is completely reliable. Even if you fall down and are eaten by someone, you won't have any physical problems.

Although the material itself is non-toxic, except in special cases. At a high temperature of more than 400 degrees, polytetrafluoroethylene will decompose into toxic gases, but we also need to know that the electrical appliances we use in daily cooking cannot reach such a high temperature. It's usually between 100 and 250 degrees, so you don't need to worry. As for the coating of the non stick pot, whether it can be used depends on the specific situation. From the perspective of simple cooking, coating falling will not hinder. That is, it's just troublesome to clean up when brushing the pot.

The agreed non stick pot will become sticky without coating. If it's not too troublesome, you can continue to use it. But if the coating of the electric cooker falls off, it's better to replace it. Most of the liners of our electric rice cookers are made of aluminum. Aluminum is prone to chemical reactions in an acid-base environment. Eating too much food into the pot may affect your body.
